A state-of-the-art fully self-sustaining green building for this animal shelter. Building will use solar panels to generate all of the power it uses yearly. A high efficiency envelope for the building will conserve energy and heat pumps will be used to heat and cool the building, thus eliminating the need to use any fossil fuel for heating. All of the roof runoff water will be collected for reuse as greywater for toilet flushing and trench washing, saving thousands of gallons of precious potable water each year.
