Pavilion, Kyabirwa, Uganda

Outdoor pavilion for waiting and small group gatherings. Folded roof facilitates natural air flow and brings daylight deep into the interior. Roof is made of tin sheet and a layer of thatch. Thatch layer minimizes solar heat gain and keep the interior space cool. Sculptural cast in place concrete seating creates zones for outdoor seating.
