Transformative Surgery Center, New York

One of the first of its kind in the nation, Mount Sinai Transformative Surgery Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality advanced surgical care.

Located in a former 1920s bank building with large arched windows, the layout takes full advantage of natural light and views from the south and west exposures.

The Transformative Surgery Center provides comprehensive care for patients both before and after their surgical procedures. The facility includes three exam rooms and one procedure room, all fully equipped with advanced patient education technology within a calm, welcoming environment. Furniture and cabinetry in the exam rooms are designed to optimize spatial efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of medical hygiene. Dedicated spaces are also provided to support the essential personnel involved in patient care. The reception room includes both standing areas and comfortable seating to accommodate patients’ physical comfort needs during post-surgery recovery periods.

The reception area wall features a Sol LeWitt masterpiece, “Wall Drawing #1173: Bands of Six Colors in Four Directions,” installed for the enjoyment of patients, visitors, and staff, further enhancing the overall experience. The wall drawing is on loan from the Yale University Art Gallery.
