Elementary School

A proposed new 2-story, 42,000 sf addition to the Ridge Street Elementary School provides a variety of spaces that support interactive learning, flexible curricula and varying group sizes. A new main entrance, lobby, and corridor connects the existing building to the new wing. The addition includes a new Cafetorium (a hybrid cafeteria and auditorium with retractable seating), kindergarten and first grade classrooms with related break-out space for one-on-one instruction or group collaboration, and new art and music rooms and MakerSpace for S.T.E.A.M. curriculum .

A new interior courtyard provides visual and physically connectivity between existing building and new addition. New Courtyard has outdoor learning areas, a new greenhouse and space for large outdoor gatherings. Courtyard garden will be called " Ross Garden" named after previous school superintendent Jonathan Ross.

Blind Brook Middle School / High School Fabrication Lab

The proposed Fab Lab will be a major asset to Blind Brook Middle School / High School. It will draw on the S.T.E.A.M. programs that are already part of the school’s curriculum and will provide them with a dedicated space to grow. The Fab Lab will be a flexible space for students to share in collaborative, project-based learning. Here they will have the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience and problem solving skills that will prepare them for the types of challenges they will encounter in college and eventually in the work place. Fab lab have dedicated CNC room, workbench areas, 3D printer stations, dedicated wood working room and furniture that enables flexible configurations.
